Arts NT helps with travels to Milan

I am pleased to announce that a Quick Response Grant from Arts NT for help with costs associated with travel to Milan has been successful. Upon an invitation from fellow Australian designers; Trent Jansen and Adam Goodrum, I am packing my bags and making the pilgrimage to Milan in April this year. The Salone Internazionale del Mobile, or Milan International Furniture Show, is one of the most well established and celebrated furniture fairs in the world. The official numbers for last year's show
were 270,000 people over four days, that's the entire population of Alice Springs nine times over! As well as the official event, there are a multitude of fringe events throughout the city that all revolve around 'design'. It will be, I hope, both an exhilarating and inspiring trip, and although the odds of being 'picked-up' by a manufacturer are, well; 270,000 to 1, they're a lot more promising than from here, in the middle of the central Australian Desert.
