'A Better Billy'
After a year-long trek from Bathurst to Broken Hill with just her partner, two camels and three donkeys, Elliat Rich became expert at brewing tea in remote locations. Back home in Alice Springs, the designer applied her knowledge to glass, producing the test-tube like Urban Billy, a finalist in this year's Bombay Sapphire Design
Discovery Award.
A portable kettle for all weather conditions, it's made of seven components including a water chamber and a stand-cum-windbreak. See Rich's work on display with designs by Berto Pandolfo, Kelly Freeman and Rina Bernabei and more at Object Gallery in Surry Hills.
